Browser downloads with your own login
Cookies and downloads stay on your computer. Install the extension and local helper once, then approve each video link. Nzelha's server never receives your login.
1. Add the browser extension
Browser-store installation is coming. For the easiest login downloads today, use the Android app.
2. Install the desktop helper
Open the installer and click Install helper. The downloader and media tools are included—no commands, Python installation or extension ID needed.
Desktop installer preview. For the simplest supported setup, use the Android app until the desktop release is ready.
Then sign in on the video’s own website, return to Nzelha, and choose Use my browser login.
Files are saved in Downloads/Nzelha. Closing or reloading the tab cancels unfinished local downloads. This helper handles individual videos, not entire playlists; account access and DRM restrictions still apply.
Developer downloads
Includes the extension and local helper. One-time desktop setup is required; Firefox uses a temporary add-on until a signed release is available.
Download and unzip the helper into a permanent folder. Install Python 3.10+ and FFmpeg; both must work in your terminal.
Chrome / Edge: open chrome://extensions or edge://extensions, enable Developer mode, select Load unpacked and choose the chrome folder.
Firefox 140+: open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox, select Load Temporary Add-on and choose firefox/manifest.json. Reload this temporary add-on after restarting Firefox. Permanent installation requires Mozilla signing.
Open a terminal in the extracted folder and run the command for your browser below. On Windows use py instead of python3. The installer downloads yt-dlp into its own Python environment.
Restart the browser, reload the Firefox temporary add-on if needed, and sign in on the video's own website. Return to Nzelha, choose Use my browser login, approve the exact link in the extension window, and pick a quality. Keep this tab open until the download finishes.
python3 native/install.py --browser chrome python3 native/install.py --browser edge python3 native/install.py --browser firefox
Installation and troubleshooting guide
Install once
Add the extension from your browser's official store using the buttons above. Download the helper for your computer, unzip it into a permanent folder, open it and click Install helper. Restart your browser. The installer includes everything the helper needs; you do not need terminal commands. If the store or installer is not available yet, use the Android app or the Developer downloads instructions above.
Download with your account
Sign in on the video's original website in the same browser. Return to Nzelha, paste the video link and choose Use my browser login. Check the link in the extension window and approve it, then choose the quality. Keep the Nzelha tab open until the download finishes. Find your files in Downloads/Nzelha.
The helper cannot connect
Check that the extension is enabled in this browser and the helper is installed. Open the helper installer again, select your browser and click Install helper, then restart the browser. For a Firefox temporary add-on, load it again after restarting Firefox. Developer installations also need working Python and FFmpeg; follow the instructions above.
Login or download fails
Open the original video link and check that you can play it with your account. Sign in again if needed, then return to Nzelha and retry with a new approval. Your account must have access to the video. Protected videos may not be downloadable. The helper currently downloads individual videos; choose a single video link instead of a playlist.
Stop or remove the helper
Choose Disconnect browser helper on Nzelha to revoke this tab's approvals and cancel unfinished downloads. Closing or reloading the tab also cancels them. Remove the extension in your browser's extension settings to stop using it. For a developer installation, the removal commands are below. Saved downloads remain on your computer.
Your privacy
Your login cookies and downloads stay on your computer. Nzelha's website and server never receive your login cookies. Each approval covers only the displayed link in the current tab. Temporary login files are removed after each operation. Only download content you own or have permission to download.
